About IPS :: Jimmy LaValley
Jimmy recently joined Integrated People Solutions and brings a wealth of Human Resources and Talent Management expertise to the firm to integrate with his Organizational Development practice.
Prior to joining IPS, Jimmy served as Waste Management's Senior Vice President of People, Jimmy LaValley was responsible for starting up and overseeing all of the company's human resource functions, including compensation, benefits, recruitment, development, retention, performance management, and succession planning. During the time he was creating all of these systems for Waste Management, Jimmy also got involved with selecting the company's new CEO. Jimmy worked closely with the Board to develop a systematic process for selecting the new CEO, helped conduct formal assessments of the three internal candidates, helped the Board make a final determination, and spent two years helping the new CEO successfully transition into his new position. Some of this transition work involved helping to CEO and his senior leadership team develop the company's one and three year business strategies and then driving these strategies through the company's top 1,500 leaders. Mr. LaValley joined Waste Management from Covad Communications Group, Inc., where he was the Executive Vice President of Community Relations. Prior to Covad, he was the Executive Director, Human Resources, for US WEST Communications in Colorado. As part of the US WEST Strategic Staffing Services, he led a team of 200 professionals who were responsible for all of the company's staffing, recruiting, relocation, and management development programs. Mr. LaValley began his career with US WEST in 1979.
